Closed petition Make it compulsary for council to check for a microchip when an animal is found.

Closed on

When your pet is lost the first thing you will do is contact the vets, then maybe the microchip company, the council. But they only check a certain vicinity for your pet. Say they got in a car or worse were stolen.

The missing cats and dogs I see are mainly microchipped or have I.d tags yet no one is called and their owners are left unaware that their beloved animal is picked up because they are not checked for a microchip.

This should be compulsary it's compulsary for a dog to be microchipped from April this year but it is NOT compulsary for councils to check a found animal for a microchip.

I am shocked and saddened that lots of animals dogs cats and rabbits ferrets are not checked. Sign now to change this and force them to check. Thank you
