Ofcom do not have legal powers to either monitor customer service standards, or take action against telecom companies that fail to provide acceptable service levels to their customers. This may be slow Broadband speeds, or simply failing to have adequately staffed help lines or technical support.
There are many incidences of poor service provision by Telecom companies. Recently this has been featured on a popular televison news programme in the East of the country. They stated that they had been inundated with complaints.
