Closed petition Review how child maintenance is calculated for self employed fathers

Closed on

Self employed fathers pay far less than employed fathers and by unrealistic calculations. Self employed figures are based on profit after travelling expenses, vehicle finance, fuel and telephone etc are deducted from their gross figure. Employed fathers who earn less gross pay far more

An employed father who earns £500 gross per week would pay £100.00 per week. He would also have same traveling and living expenses as the self employed father yet this is not taken into account. Too many self employed fathers abuse this system as an excuse to take little financial responsibility for their children. In most cases the self employed are living high standards of living whilst employed fathers struggle with general living. Self employed fathers should be calculated on realisticly
