I believe it's important for all dental receptionists to feel they are as important as registered professionals. Dental receptionists are the first and last point of call for patients.

I also believe that it would give dental receptionists a higher profile and feel important to the dental team. I have spoken to a dental receptionist and she has stated that she believes it's important for these changes to be made as it would benefit the dental services and feels it would have a positive impact on dental receptionists to feel as important as the rest of the dental team. I believe that they should be registered with the general dental council to have a responsibility for keeping up to date with standards and prove that they are continuing personal development but also be accountable for their actions.
