Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept your petition in its current form as it does not call for a clear action from the UK Government and Parliament.

The franchise (that is, the rules about who is allowed to vote) for the EU referendum is based on the franchise for Parliamentary elections (which does not include EU citizens resident in the UK), with the addition of Members of the House of Lords; and Commonwealth and Irish citizens who can vote at European Parliamentary elections in Gibraltar. Other EU citizens cannot vote in the EU Referendum.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
