Rejected petition Make Employers Employ Those With Criminal Records Instead of Binning Us!
application after application is refused because a person has a criminal record. I'm not talking about serious offences such as rape, murder etc but those misdemeanors we have encountered.
Every application has: 'Do you have a criminal record?'

I've even come across 'you MUST NOT have a criminal record'
This is wrong and needs to stop! It in a way is discriminating because of stupid petty crimes! WE WANT TO WORK, yet we cant because employers don't allow it?
Take Ryanair as an example: They don't allow any type of conviction, yet my petty crime doesn't stop me working or entering another country! Its discrimination and needs to stop!
We all make mistakes and don't want to live on benefits!!!! We then get sanctions for 'not looking'!

You could start a new petition asking Parliament to change the law, to make it illegal for employers to discriminate against people with criminal convictions in their recruitment processes.
