Petition Implement larger capacity trains on Cross Country Train Routes

Since the start of the CrossCountry train franchise in 2007. Train passengers have doubled and are still increasing however the Franchise still run small 4-5 carriage locomotives.
Contract for CrossCountry trains is reviewed this year so the Government should consider implementing larger trains.

Currently CrossCountry Trains implement 3 sets of Trains.
High Speed Trains that consist of 8 Carriages.
Voyageurs and Super Voyageurs 4-5 Carriages.
Turbo Stars Trains 2-3 Carriages.

Voyageurs operate in the South West , North East, Scotland, South Coast, North West and North East. They are subject to overcrowding on the majority of routes to unsafe levels of passengers having to stand, sit in non-designated seats and scramble over the first available seat.

This needs to change.
