Rejected petition Allow owners of grade 2 listed buildings to install double glazing

Old/draughty windows are costing listed building owners a fortune as we turn up the heat in an attempt to keep warm. Increasing volumes of traffic on our roads mean that grade 2 listed buildings situated close to busy roads suffer high levels of noise & pollution entering through single glazing

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Permission to change windows in grade II listed buildings is the responsibility of local planning authorities, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You can find out more information, including who your local planning authority is for your area, on the national planning portal website: https://www.planningportal.co.uk/?docRef=LocalInformation&scope=202&langid=0

If you want the UK Government or Parliament to take action, for example to amend the legislation and policy framework which governs planning and development decisions taken by local authorities, you could start a new petition specifically asking for that action.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
