In an effort to raise money for the UK economy and in the same way our European counterparts raise money either through road tolls or by use of the vignette system (e.g. austria, Bulgaria, Czech republic, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Switzerland) I propose that the UK government launches a similar scheme to inject money into the UK economy but also over time allow the government to reduce taxes for the average UK citizen.

If the government really wants to diversify and lead the way then it should create a central road tax department capable of managing all of Europes road systems as currently there is no one efficient / best way of administering them and I bet that there are plenty countries out there willing to outsource to someone to take this headache away from them
