Closed petition Manchester & other pro-EU cities to become independent EU member city states
Closed on
Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, London, etc... We didnt vote to leave the EU. We want to protections that EU membership offers in terms of workers rights, human rights, and environmental legislation.
We want to secede from the UK & remain in the EU, operating as a network of independent city states.
The cities that voted to remain in the EU have a long history of welcoming migrants and of fighting for progressive values. We want to continue to enjoy the benefits of EU membership whilst also fighting for a better Europe.
With devolution already on the agenda, our cities could operate as networked city-states with EU membership. We should hold local referenda on seceding from the UK and remaining in the EU.
