Closed petition Work with the Commonwealth of Nations to establish an economic union

We call upon Her Majesty, the government and the British Parliament to actively seek cooperation with other commonwealth countries to establish a strong union/community that promotes greater social, political & economic harmony amongst those countries we have a strong historical relationships with.

The people of the UK have voted to leave the EU, which will cause a huge economic impact. This vote is influenced by strong concerns regarding the legitimacy of a democratic mandate within the European Commission. There are also many constitutional questions this raises in terms of future arrangements between nations within the UK such as Scottish autonomy & Northern Ireland's relationship with Ireland. Commonwealth countries have already endorsed seeking free trade between commonwealth members.
