Rejected petition Reinstate the Department for Energy and Climate Change.

Rejected on

PM Theresa May has made it one of her first acts to abolish said department, and instead joined it to the new Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy. In times like these the Department for Energy and Climate Change should not be abolished, but instead prioritised for its importance.

The Committee on Climate Change recently released a 2,000 page report that highlights widespread flooding, and increasing temperatures across the UK in the coming years.

This is also coinciding with the reports that April broke the global temperature record, marking seven consecutive months of record breaking temperatures (NASA).

Its imperative that these issues are addressed right now, as they pose a threat to the world as we know it.
