Closed petition Legally require force food suppliers to label all halal blessed/slaughtered meat
Closed on
I am not Muslim, i do not wish to eat halal meat, l do not agree with it religiously & ethically, i support animal rights.
I have accidentally eaten halal meat and this caused me religious and ethical issues and has deeply offended me, i demand ALL shops clearly label halal blessed/slaughtered meat
Tesco- "we do not specify to suppliers whether halal practices should be followed"
M&S- "we do not specify any religious practice as part of our sourcing policy so therefore do not label"
Sainsburys- "in NZ it is common for lamb to be blessed"
Morrisons- "all our lamb from NZ is pre-stunned and blessed"
Co-Op- "there is currently no UK wide labelling scheme"
ASDA- "No comment"
Waitrose- " there is currently no UK labelly scheme and we believe this is a matter where government should lead "
