Closed petition Make food manufacturers to declare and label their food halal or kosher

It is in the interests of the people to give them the information about what they eat so they can make an informed decision about the food they eat. To deny this is denying peoples right to choose. People have the right to know what they are buying and nothing should be hidden from the consumer.

This work both ways, some people are strongly against the way in which animals are treated before their death and the way in which they are slaughtered. They do not wish to have any part in the consumption of halal and kosher products. However, the moslem community do support this and would probably feel better knowing that their food is slaughtered to "halal" guidelines and I am sure the Jewish community would prefer to buy products that are marked "Kosher".
