Petition Stop self employed people paying tax in advance as paye do not pay in advance

As self employed individual I pay tax in advance and really struggle to do so .I am a self employed electrician ,I have good years and bad years so when the HMRC asked for money in advance , I really struggle to pay it ,this is unfair as when I was a paye they never asked for 6 month tax ahead

If I should fall short of money ,example people paying me late . Then I have to pay interest on tax money I should be paying in advance to the HMRC.
I believe this system makes many small individuals and small company's go out of business.
Let's to be fair to all who work paye and self employed people
