Closed Approved Mental Health Professionals are underpaid and under resourced.

There has been a huge increase in the need for AMHP services and there are scant resources.

Staff are undervalued, underpaid and isolated. Support from agencies is reduced. Service users are suffering. Beds in MH units are scarce and miles away. There is significant risk of harm to AMHPs and service users. There is no recognition of the importance of the AMHP role in maintaining safety within the community and addressing acute mental illness. Resources are being withdrawn. AMHPs need re evaluation in salary and support
