Rejected petition Include News broadcasts in watershed rules
These days it appears that the only news on tv is bad news.
I think that children being exposed to the graphic images of war, murder and hate crime that seem to fill news bulletins is as harmful if not more, than films and programs that are forced to air later in the evening.
More details
In one news at six programme we were shown an American policeman shooting someone, some graphic images of the aftermath of a massacre on a German train, some footage of a knife man being tasered in a tube station, a gunman in Munich shooting at people and some buildings being blown up by aircraft.
Added to all this were images of desperate refugees drowning at sea.
The news is the news but newscasters need to think about what they show at what time of day.
This news can be shown at ten o'clock
