The Merseyside built Type 42 Destroyer HMS Liverpool is due to be decommissioned next year after 30 years service.

We,the undersigned,do not wish this ship to be sold for scrap or to a foreign Navy and request that the government allow HMS Liverpool to be returned home to Merseyside so she may be preserved on the River Mersey as part of our proud maritime history,and for the future enjoyment of the population.
