Closed petition Stop South Africans voting in UK when Brits can't vote in SA.
Closed on
A Brit living in South Africa with permanent residency is prevented from voting in South African elections. However, South Africans can move to the UK and after meeting the residency requirements can vote in all UK elections.
This is grossly unjust and needs to be stopped
Qualifying Commonwealth citizens can vote in all UK elections once they've been resident for the requisite period but in some Commonwealth countries like South Africa there is no reciprocal agreement. This is blatantly unfair and unjust and must be stopped.
