Rejected petition All dogs in cars should be strapped in with a seat belt or in a cage.
Too many dogs are left loose in the car when traveling. They should be strapped in for their safety as well as yours.
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Rule 57 of the Highway Code already says that:
"When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves, if you stop quickly. A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of restraining animals in cars."

We are therefore not sure what additional action you would like the Government or Parliament to take.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
