Katrina Percy was a disaster as the CEO of Southern Health and has finally resigned. On her watch, the unexplained deaths of more than a thousand vulnerable people were not properly investigated. She will continue to draw a salary & perks of £240k/pa. This is an obscene reward for utter failure.

A report commissioned by NHS England, carried out by the audit firm Mazars, concluded that there was no “effective” management of deaths or investigations and a lack of “effective focus or leadership from the board”. The CQC said the leadership did not proactively address risks “before concerns are raised by external bodies”.

A Southern spokeswoman said Percy’s new role would be “providing strategic advice to local GP leaders” and her salary would not change.
