Closed Better pay for support workers and carers they are the backbone of this country.

Carers, supported living and especially nursing homes, are the backbone of this country. Right now, the care sector and social welfare sector is suffering to the point of collapse. It is the backbone of this country. In order to attract a quality of care, the rate of pay MUST be increased.

This article in the guardian more or less sums up the whole situation.

If we are to attract a quality of staff that is prepared to actually "care" then we must give those staff the incentive to come and do so. Right now, the wage is slow low it is almost in design to attract abuse, negativity and bad care. And those who do care are pushed to their limit financially and emotionally. This must change.
