Petition The import and personal use of DMT-containing plant materials should be legal.

While the Psychoactive Substances Act 2016 is right to ban some dangerous legal highs, a blanket ban is ill-considered. Personal use and import of DMT-containing plant materials, in their natural form, should be legal, especially since the possession of said item is NOT a crime under this new act.

Certain plants and plant materials found in nature have long been used for curing depression, learning about consciousness and developing spirituality for those who find religion ineffective. Plants used for 'Ayahuasca' have powerful healing properties and have been used by many to help overcome depression, anxiety and stress. Personal use can allow people to study spirituality, the nature of our existence and consciousness as a right of their freedom.
