Closed petition Preserve all existing rights of UK citizens to Freedom of Movement in the EU
Closed on
The EU Referendum text did not instruct the Government to sign away UK citizens' current rights to travel, reside, work, study, or retire freely anywhere in the EU, without discrimination. Though on Brexit we lose EU citizenship, the Govt. has a duty to preserve our rights in its Brexit Agreement.
These Factsheets summarise your current rights of Free Movement 1) as EU citizens, & 2) via UK membership of the Single Market. You will lose these rights unless they are protected.
1) Free Movement of Persons: (skip the Schengen section) http://www.europarl.europa.eu/atyourservice/en/displayFtu.html?ftuId=FTU_2.1.3.html
2) Free Movement of Workers: (different emphasis: this is oriented to the Single Market): http://www.europarl.europa.eu/atyourservice/en/displayFtu.html?ftuId=FTU_3.1.3.html
