Rejected petition Allow British Army soldiers to wear neat/trimmed Beard and Mustasche..

The Royal Navy allows soldiers to grow a neat beard and mustasche. It helps them to better better integrate with local forces and civilian alliances when on tours overseas (Given than our most recent tours have been in the middle east). If an operation requires then soldiers can be ordered to shave.

More details

Traditionally, British army soldiers are required to shave on parades to look smart. However, Royan Navy soldiers can wear a beard on parade and still look smart. There shoulld not be a reason why the same cannot be allowed to the Army soldiers. A smart, well groomed and looked after beard can make a difference to a soldiers personality and help bonding between troops due to psychological reasons. It will also help soldiers to blend in with locals, when on operations in foreign countries.
