Petition Stop PPL bullying people into paying to listen to the radio ALONE while working.
More details
We the signed ARE NOT broadcasting this music to the public or using it to create an atmosphere in our shops, cafes or bars.
PPL are using ambiguous laws to bully small businesses into paying to listen to the radio when working alone in a non public space & even when only listening to non music stations
These organisations state that they are there to collect the money owed to people producing music when their music is played to the public. All of which we have no problem with but surely using a radio to help get through the day has been every persons right and its main use since it's invention. Yet they are allowed to use the law to bully already struggling small business owners into paying vast backdated sums for listening to eg. radio 4 a station that plays little music and is paid by the licence fee, whilst alone and in an area that cannot be heard by the public something it's sister organisation PRS tellingly does not do.
This must be stopped, please do sign
