Petition Make landlords & agents give 24 hours notice to access shared rental housing.

I currently live in a share house where the agency accesses the home unannounced. Because my housemates and I complained, the agency tried to threaten me and we feel like we can't enjoy this new home because the laws regarding 24 hours notice to rentals don't include share houses, but they should.

On citizensadvice.org.uk, it's states that landlords "...should always ask for your permission and should give you at least 24 hours notice." However, if you stay in lodgings where the landlord provides a room-cleaning service or where you share a room with other lodgers, your landlord can enter without permission. All my housemates and I have either had our items tampered with in communal areas or our rooms accessed without permission or without due notice. These exceptions should be illegal.
