Petition Re-open the Shrewsbury to Stafford Railway Line via Wellington & Newport.
I attended interview in Cannock. 1 and half hours to get there by Rail. If we had a connection from Shrewsbury to Stafford, via Wellington & Newport I would have only travel fo 43 minutes, half the amount of time. The route should be Shrewsbury to Walsall via Wellington, Newport, Stafford & Rugely

Association of Train Operating Companies, in its Connecting Communities: Expanding Access to the Rail Network report, called for funding to reopen the line from Stafford to Wellington as part of £500m scheme to open 33 stations on 14 lines closed in the Beeching Axe. A group called Shropshire, Telford & the Marches Strategic Rail Group voted to lobby government to invest in reopening the line, a quicker alternative of direct link to London. Estimated cost would be roughly £230 million.
