Rejected petition Amend parts of the Digital Economy Bill 2016–17
The Digital Economy Bill is one that is unacceptable in this day and age where the internet is relied on for information and freedom of speech.
This bill wishes to take control of certain websites by blocking results and require the public to register to access them, which is a breach of privacy.

The Digital Economy Bill wishes to compile a register of people that wish to access pornographic content. There is no guarantee that this data would be kept safe - opening up people to embarrassment, blackmail and judgement as it opens up opportunities data leaks. It also bans anything that wouldn't be allowed on a commercially available DVD such as female ejaculation, which is sexist.
This bill also wishes to ban search results to websites linking to copyrighted content, and jail online pirates for up to ten years.
