Rejected petition Stop the automation of checkouts by computers
Sainsburys, Tesco, ASDA, B&Q, McDonalds to name a few are automating thier checkouts and replacing people with machines. Thier is no benefit to society from this, it simply takes away jobs (and tax revenue). The potential lost jobs suit millions on benefits as they offer workplace flexibility
More details
This caught my attention in McDonalds where all counter staff, apart from 1, had been replaced with computer screens for ordering; The following day in ASDA I noticed a long line of tills had been replaced with self-checkouts, the staff are powerless to stop it. These jobs are vitality important to the economy and in reducing the benefits bill but with Self Checkouts, Driver-Less Trucks, Taxis & Trains and Amazon doing drone deliveries! where will this end but with a sky high benefits bill!!

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could ask Parliament to change the law to ban the use of automated checkouts, if that's what you would like to happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
