I am a retired medical doctor and have seen standards in health care deteriorate over several decades. My own experience and that of family and friends have reinforced that view. It is time to do something positive.

Letter to The Sunday Times November 20, 2016 by over 60 consultants calling for a royal commission to cure the NHS. Leading article in the same issue by Sarah-Kate Templeton: 'We must think the unpalatable to stop death of NHS say doctors'. Owen Paterson's report in October 2016 comparing the UK's NHS with other systems in the West. It found that 46,000 people died unnecessarily each year because of failings in our health service.
