Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. As part of the Immigration Act 2016, public sector staff working in customer-facing roles, including those in the NHS, are already required to speak English to an appropriate standard.
For more on this, see the guidelines on English language requirements for public sector workers: https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/573013/english_language_requirement_public_sector_workers_code_of_practice_2016.pdf
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
