Closed petition Make Jaywalking (crossing the road in undesignated places) An Offence
Closed on
Jaywalking has become a serious problem in the UK, pedestrians have a total disregard for traffic. It is dangerous and results in many fatal accidents. The UK has plenty of Zebra crossings and pedestrian traffic lights. It's a matter of life & death and it's time to make it an offence.
Jaywalking occurs when a pedestrian crosses a road where it's not safe to do so. Examples include crossing in middle of the road, between junctions, when a traffic light is green for traffic, or not by a zebra crossing.
In Many countries, including the Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Israel, Poland, USA and many other Countries, Jaywalking is an Offence
