Closed petition The UK to remain a part of Euratom
Closed on
The European Union (Notification of Withdrawal) Bill was introduced in the House of Commons on 26th Jan 2017. The Bill states that, in leaving the EU, the UK will also leave the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom).
We, the undersigned, ask that the UK remains a part of Euratom.
Bill can be read here:
http://services.parliament.uk/bills/2016-17/europeanunionnotificationofwithdrawal/documents.html
Page 4 of the commentary specifies the withdrawal from Euratom.
This will be disastrous for the funding of nuclear research, funding for Fusion Energy research, the building of new British nuclear power stations, the movement of fuel, nuclear safety regulations, and much more.
