Closed petition Make Freestyle libre sensors and receiver available on the NHS for T1 Diabetics.

Closed on

I have a Type 1 Diabetic Daughter (nine years old) and T1D since she was 2 years old. Thats 7 years of up to 10 finger pricks a day to test blood glucose. To do this we have test strips and lancets via prescription. This money could fund a freestyle libre instead!

Freestyle libre reads the blood sugars via a sensor on the back of the arm and then it is scanned by the reader for blood glucose results.
We have only been on this 2 weeks and the change in my Daughters levels is amazing!
Plus she is taking more control of her own Diabetes because she no longer has the discomfort several times a day of pricking her fingers for blood.

I believe that these should be available on the NHS as they cost the same as what it does for lancets and test strips etc ...
