Petition Higher-Tech HS2 Alternative.

I feel that if the states companies are going to sink and invest a large sum of money into a new transportational Infrastructure, then it should be more future-proofed in nature than the current technologies the new HS2 trains are proposed to have.

If the trains were fitted with a Pulsed Detonation Engine, then they could acheive a higher speed making them more frequent, reducing the need to make them have the same capacity of current trains.
It would give more leg room, lower the price after the company had broken-even(in relative comparison with current rail networks).

And off course if the government has plans to eventually build a new rail-based train line, and sink money into a new physical rail link, then I feel its a grand opportunity to divest that money into the rail sollution, and re-invest it into a permanent magnet and Pulse Detonation Engine based track sollution.
