Petition Central Purchasing Dept for National & Local Government. UK only produced goods given priority.

To establish a central "buying" office to provide everything required by all government departments, nationally and locally, staffed by expert buyers in their fields.

All goods, from paperclips to aircraft carriers, to be sourced in the UK, unless such goods can not be produced in Great Britain, then an alternative source should be considered, but not beyond Europe/North America and the Commonwealth.

This would benefit the Nation in a moltitude of ways.

1) The ability to reduce costs by discarding "Departmental" purchasing offices.

2) The ability to demand better prices from the suppliers for larger orders.

3) British goods produced in British factories staffed by people paying British taxes.

This would reduce unemployment, increase taxes revenues, stimulate growth around the UK, improve the technical and mechanical skill of the British workers involved, improve our competitiveness around the world thus increasing exports.
