Rejected petition Make legal the right to self-medicate, reducing the burden on the NHS.

Dear MP's, we, the undersigned, hereby request the basic human right of self-medication, be made legal for sufferers of various ailments and health conditions. Law abiding citizens should have the right and freedom to produce and administer their own medicine when suffering from a health condition

More details

No person owns another persons body, and as such has no right to dictate to another how they should or shouldn't medicate. Every law abiding citizen should have the right to cultivate or produce whatever natural remedy they see fit, when suffering from a health issue that is/has reduced their quality of life.

This law needs to extend to include the cultivation of medicinal cannabis. Many Americans are now allowed to produce their own medicines - the British public should have the same right.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure what medicines you'd like people to be able to produce and use. For example, we're not sure whether you'd like people to have access to all drugs and treatments, including those that are usually severely restricted, such as radiotherapy and diamorphine (Heroin), or whether you'd like people to have access only to specific drugs, such as cannabis.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
