I lost my son Cameron to cold water shock in July 2015 something we as a family knew nothing about , he was 14 fit, healthy and had his whole life ahead of him. I truly believe that had he had the educate on the real dangers in and around open water he'd still be here today

Deaths in open water is a a leading cause of accidental death in the UK. More often it's the dangers unknown to many ie cold water shock and the deadly effects it has on the human body that leads to a loss of life rather than the swimming ability of the individual. Education is key to reduce the numbers of lives lost Swimming and classroom lessons should teach children about the dangers of cold water shock new figures show a 25 per cent rise in the number of young people drowning accidentally
