As the Scottish Parliament has chosen an official blue for the saltire, azure pantone 300, this should be adopted as the official blue of the Union Flag to ensure the integrity of the meaning of this flag is upheld.

The Scottish flag should continue to be under that of the English.

Following a petition to the Scottish Parliament, the Education, Culture and Sport Committee of the Scottish Parliament considered this issue. The Committee agreed to make a recommendation about the colour of the saltire, but this is not a decision that has been taken by the Scottish Parliament as a whole.
