Rejected petition Secede from the EU
More details
Currently, the UK's net contribution to the EU is over 7bn annually.
This does not include any extra demands upon our treasury to bail out peripheral countries like Ireland, Portugal, Greece - and maybe even Italy and Spain.
Coupled with the inability to set our own laws and tariffs (e.g. the UK cannot remove VAT on domestic heating fuel, electronic books nor tampons because it is not permitted under EU legislation) the sooner we are out of this expensive anti-democratic club the better.
Those who claim that we should be in as 60% of our trade is with Europe do not realise that only 12% of our exports but 75% of our imports are with Europe and so EU countries would never dare 'punish' us for leaving
