Closed on

The A56 carries approx. 35,000 vehicles per day with HGVs and OGVs
contributing approx. 13.5% of this figure. Resulting air pollution affects peoples health, contributing to respiratory illness, heart disease and some cancers. Noise, road accidents, traffic congestion are other associated factors

Starting from the M60 Carrington Spur junction with Carrington Lane, going South across Carrington Moss towards Ashton Road joining the A56 west of the new A556 bypass, giving a direct link between the M60 jnc 8 to the M56 jnc 8 and onto the M6 jnc 19 via the new A556 intersections
Linking the M60 to the A56 west will create a new circular transportation network.
STOP THIS A56 TRAFFIC NIGHTMARE -BUILD THE ALTRINCHAM AND SALE BYPASS NOW.
