Petition Any NEWSPAPER to be bound like BBC: to be fair, balanced, truthful and accurate.
At top of cover page, all publications to declare themselves to be a Newspaper, or Propaganda Sheet, Party Political publication, Advertising material, Lifestyle magazine, Specific Interest Publication. We need to know what we buy, just as we differentiate between reportage and advertisement.

The reason for this need is the existence of daily publications which:
• deliberately distort their reporting by selection of facts,
• selectively headline items with a disproportionate emphasis on some topics,
• repeat items as if they were new or current when they are not,
• use biased, inflammatory or pejorative language,
• set a tone which encourages divisiveness and prejudice against particular groups or beliefs.
This is a serious and growing problem, today and in recent years.
