Petition Police officers should be allowed spit hoods as part of their kit.

At the moment police officers can only use a spit hood in the custody footprint ie in the yard, cage or in custody. Imagine having to do a hospital guard for 8 hours with someone spitting at you and constantly threatening to spit at you.

There are significant health risks through spitting a Ukrainian police officer contracted tuberculosis in 2016 and died. You are also at risk of hep b and hep c as well as cold and flu viruses.
