Closed petition Making it law to label foods containing group 1 carcinogens with warnings.

Closed on

Group 1 carcinogens are know to cause cancer like cigarettes for example.

Most people do not know that group 1 carcinogens are in many common foods.

A label stating that the product contains group 1 carcinogens gives the consumer the awareness and power to make a more informed choice.

As stated by WHO;

Cancer prevention
Between 30-50% of all cancer cases are preventable. Prevention offers the most cost-effective long-term strategy for the control of cancer. National policies and programmes should be implemented to raise awareness, to reduce exposure to cancer risk factors and to ensure that people are provided with the information and support they need to adopt healthy lifestyles.
