Rejected petition Hands-off Scotland’s devolved powers!

In 1997, the people of Scotland voted very decisively to have a devolved Scottish Parliament and devolved powers as well, and they are within an EU framework. But now, the UK government is planning a ‘power grab’ on these areas such as agriculture, farming and fishing.

So I call on the UK government to keep their hands off those powers! They say it will be more expensive to have different sets of rules, but I don’t agree with them. If they want a UK-wide framework, then maybe they could look towards having a federalised framework rather than a ‘power grab’.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a new petition asking the UK Parliament not to make any changes to the current devolution arrangements, if that's what you'd like to happen.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
