Closed Abolish the killing of stray animals in Council shelters!

Currently it is legal for Council shelters to destroy stray dogs, cats etc. in 7 days if they are not reclaimed or taken in by a rescue such as Dog's Trust, Cats Protection or another animal charity!

I would like the Government to abolish the killing of animals in Council shelters, turn them into People's Rescues and afford them charity status, so as the public can keep these animals alive via contributions!
