Petition Give a mandatory lifetime driving ban for causing death by dangerous driving

Nick Farrimond (35) was killed on the 29th August 2016 by a driver who was convicted and imprisoned for causing death by dangerous driving. He was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. He was also given a ten year driving ban which means he can drive again and could go out and do it again

Parliament to debate sentencing for death by dangerous driving

The Petitions Committee (the group of MPs who oversee the parliamentary petitions system) has scheduled a debate on a petition about sentencing for death by dangerous driving.

The petition being debated was started by the parents of a young girl called Violet-Grace. You can read the petition here:

The debate will take place on Monday 8 July at 4.30 pm in Westminster Hall, which is the second debating chamber of the House of Commons. Helen Jones MP, the Chair of the Committee, will open the debate.
