Rejected petition Call for the resignation of Theresa May for mishandling of immigration policy.

Given Ms May's appalling record on immigration over many years as Home Secretary and Prime Minister we urge her to take responsibility for the unnecessary and on occasion illegal suffering she has caused so many British subjects and resign.

More details

The suffering of the Windrush generation which is all over all media currently should be evidence enough. However, High Court judgements document the illegality of deportation proceedings under May as Home Secretary and Prime Minister. For example in R (Kiarie and Byndloss) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2017] UKSC 42 the Supreme Court has struck down “deport first, appeal later” certificates, such certificates specifically and publicly advocated by Theresa May in 2013.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The resignation of the Prime Minister would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.

If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or Parliament, you could start a petition about that.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
