Closed petition Conduct an urgent review of the Immigration Acts 2014 and 2016
Closed on
I request an urgent review of the legislation in the Immigration Acts 2014 and 2016 (‘the Acts’), in view of the recent adverse publicity over the “Windrush” generation citizens of the UK and colonies, who are reported to have suffered alleged violations of their civil liberties and human rights.
As a consequence of the implementation of the Acts, several UK/EU citizens of the "Windrush" generation have suffered loss of:- indefinite leave to remain, employment, housing, health care, bank accounts, driving licences, freedom of movement in EU states, and have experienced detention or threats of detention, and deportation/removal from the UK.
